Have We not vastly expanded your heart, O beloved,
removing completely from you the burden of universal human suffering that you bore painfully upon your shoulders? Have We not revealed you as the human being
most worthy of praise? With every intense struggle
comes spiritual delight; with difficulty comes ease.
Whenever you are free from external responsibilities,
continue to pursue interior prayer, giving every moment of awareness to your precious Lord.
أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ
وَوَضَعْنَا عَنْكَ وِزْرَكَ
الَّذِي أَنْقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ
وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ
فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا
فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانْصَبْ
وَإِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ
Alam nashrah laka sadrak
Wa wa d'ana 'anka wizrak
Allazee anqada zahrak
Wa raf 'ana laka zikrak
Fa inna ma'al usri yusra
Inna ma'al 'usri yusra
Fa iza faragh ta fansab
Wa ilaa rabbika far ghab
